Swift Ultrastrike Forage Rape
Forage Rape Seed
Swift Forage Rape is a rape/kale cross which gives it extra vigour and improved winter hardiness.
Swift is ideal for late sowing and multi grazing.
It can be used for game cover but can be prone to bolt if sown too early (before May).
If sown early in the summer Swift forage rape can re-grow after one grazing.
Utilisation
10 12 Weeks after sowing
Good for finishing Lambs
If left too long it can become bitter and unpalatable.
this forage rape has aggressive growth rates therefore is quick to establish.
Livestock intake
You must introduce feeding to any Brassica slowly over two weeks. Its best to have a grass or stubble run back. Start feeding two weeks before the crop is fully mature so livestock are accustomed to forage rape when the crop is at full potential.
Increase palatability by mixing stubble turnips and forage rape together. The two combined will increase yields and protein content compared to straight Stubble turnips.
